I’m probably one of the few lucky guys that work for a pretty cool boss. He’s very Catholic and does not hide the fact that he is a man of faith. I’m also [tag]Catholic[/tag] and he’s very open to me about struggles in his faith and family.
He gave me a book written by Danny Abramowicz titled Spiritual Workout of a Former Saint. I’m only 30 pages in (out of only 155) and so far it seems like a pretty easy read.
Danny was a wide receiver for the [tag]New Orleans Saints[/tag]. He opens the book by talking about his foundation in the Catholic [tag]Church[/tag] and how his football career became the most important thing in his life. He parallels how to be successful in spirit with what it takes to be physically successful.
As I was doing some research for this post, I came across a great new [tag]Google[/tag] feature. It’s simply called [tag]Google Books[/tag]. And by permission from the publisher, all 186 pages are available online from Google Books. There doesn’t seem a way to save the file as a Word document or PDF. At least you can browse through the book and see if you think it’s worth picking up.
I’ll let you know more about the book as I make my way through. I’m not the fastest reader but I know my spiritual self could use some tough love. It’s a little flabby and could use some help to get back on track.
