Join Others And Pledge To Read To Your Children
The National Education Association’s annual National Reading day is March 3rd 2008. The event coincides with the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel [a.k.a. Dr Seuss].
Reading to your children is a great way to show them you love them. It is such a simple activity and a fantastic way to bond with your children.
What can you do to participate?
For starters, fill out the pledge form. It’s pretty painless…it took me about 60 seconds. Pledge to read to at least one child on the 3rd. If you can, read to your kids classroom.
Second, read to your kids on March 3rd. Duh…It’s not called National Reading Day for nothing.
Finally, get the word out! [Yep - Just trying to do my part].
The more people that are involved, the better the event will be. Tell all the mom’s you know…Tell all the dad’s you know…Tell anyone who can read to a child that day to do so!
If you want to get involved in a local activity, you can search by state to see what will be going on March 3rd.
So get reading! Every child should be so lucky to have someone read to them.

My wife and I made it a point that when we had kids, that we would read to them every night. They LOVE books. The littlest one loves chewing them more than the actual content sometimes, but hey, that’s a start.
