101 Awesome Sites For Men, Husbands And Fathers

by Tyler Wainright on March 17, 2008

I want Building Camelot to be a great resource for all you men out there looking to become better fathers and husbands. This list was partially inspired by a post over at DadThing. Jared lists many great dad blogs and I tried not to duplicate too many of his links. However, some of the dad blogs out there are worth mentioning more than once.

Since his list has many dad blogs, I wanted to show some other sites that men, husbands and fathers might find useful. I have put these links into categories that I hope will make it easier for you all.

Enjoy – and if I missed you, please leave me a comment!

Let me throw one more great site for dads in the mix: Dads @ Alltop.com. This site was launched just the other day and I was lucky enough to be included. Thanks to Guy Kawasaki (one of the guys behind Truemors) for adding me. Check it out – I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

If you have a great site for men, husbands or fathers, please drop me a comment. I’d love to hear from you! Oh- and one more just for fun: Manterns – Candles just for Men. Gotta love it! I came across these and didn’t know where to put ‘em. I’d like to check out the Baseball glove scent.

  • Thanks for including me/us! I'm definitely bookmarking this! :-)
  • Hey - great idea to put this together!!! Thanks for listing DIYFather ... but we're also a general site actually (not just a how to blog) :-)

Anyway - thanks a lot and keep up the good work!!!
  • Awesome list! Thanks for the links to DadThing.com too! There are many sites there that I have not seen before. Now it's time to go check all of them out... :D
  • Great list and thanks for the link. I will check all these out.
  • Very nice list Tyler. Thanks for including us.
Like Jared, I also was not aware of many of the sites you mention. Thanks for keeping dads "in the know"!
  • @Greg: No problem. You guys have a great blog and I hope some other people come check you out.
@Stefan: Good to know. I'll leave your link where it is for now. I'm just lazy and don't want to renumber everything!
@Jared: Your list inspired this one. Hopefully some people will come check out your post and find more great dad blogs.
@SuburbanDaddy: You bet. Glad you liked the post.
    @Chuck: That's what I'm here for! :-)
  • Hi,

I'm a Dad and I also started a company, WiHood, to helps children on the internet by providing each child with a virtual PC and filtering their web pages. As a Dad with 15 years of IT experience I thought I could help other families, especially Dads, with their children on the internet and how to get the most out of it.

There are many things for parents to learn about the Internet and time is something we don't have much of when it comes to our kids.

I hope you and your readers can appreciate the WiHood concept...

  • Thanks for including Frugal Dad! This is a great resource for all men, husbands and fathers out here!
  • Now that is one hell of a comprehensive list! Thanks for including me too!

And to think, I started my blog because I couldn't find any sites for dads. Dumbass me. But in retrospect, I'm lucky I was so dumb...
  • Tyler--

Amazing, thoughtful, comprehensive. Bookmarked and referenced often. Thanks tons for including DadLabs.
  • @Thomas: Cool product. I might have to do a post about keeping kids safe online.
@ Frugal Dad: Thanks. Hope some folks head over and check out your blog.
@Busy Dad: Same here - I started this site because I thought there wasn't much out there. Us dad are still way outnumbered by mom blogs but we're catching up!
@DaddyClay: Thanks for the comment. You guys have a great site and I hope some people come and check it out.
  • Very cool. Cutting... pasting... sending to that hubby of mine...

    :) Thanks!
  • I'm sure my site was left off by accident. Right? Love the links. Thanks.
  • Great post and a great blog! Thanks for including me.
  • Great list Tyler! Glad to see so many involved dads out there! -Jeremy @ Discovering Dad
  • Great and exhaustive list, Tyler. I've been doing my blog thing for about five months and never really knew what else is out there. I'm amazed at the wealth of stuff. Mainly in America, I see. You guys are much more organised!

I'm a journalist living in London, England. I hope you don't mind making mine blog, Confessions of a New Age Dad, number 102 on your list.

    http://www.express.co.uk/blogs/author/14105/Pau...

Hardly a sexy URL but there you go.

All the best for your site. I'll try and check out all the ones you've listed!
  • sam thimbly
great list, but you forgot www.thefunkystork.com. it is good from pregnancy through to fatherhood.
  • Wow! This is a great resource Tyler. Thanks for compiling it into one spot.

    James
  • Thanks everyone for stopping by an leaving me a comment. I'm glad you guys like the list and I hope at least a few people click and check out your great sites.

@Lance: It was a complete accident. :-) What a great site! Sorry I missed it.
@New Age Dad: Great link and I'm sorry I missed your site. Now that you mention it, a large majority, if not all, of these links are based in America. I feel another article brewing. Hope to hear from you again soon.
@Sam: Great link. Thanks for adding it here!

Any other great sites out there? Drop me a comment!
  • Cool! links - now officially book marked. I've had my blog up for a while now. It seems like I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Found lots of mommy blogs.

Great list! (Feel free to correct the omission of my blog too, hehe)
  • My word, what a list! I'm glad you thought to include our site. You have identified several funny sites. Nice work. Good luck with the name picking. Let me know if you need any help influencing your wife to choose a specific name. I have mastered the art of negotiating baby names.

-I love the layout of your site too
  • great list, i've got it bookmarked, only thing that would make it better is if I'd made the list (how's that for a not so subtle hint?)
  • @OhCaptin: Sorry I missed your blog. I love the Simpson's look-a-likes you have as your header. Very unique. Hope to hear from you again and thanks for adding me to your blog roll.
@TheDonkey: Thanks for your kind words. I came across your site through Problogger and really enjoyed reading your articles. You may be hearing from me...I might need some baby name negotiating skills! :-)
@Timothy: I was hoping to get you dads out there to add your site here in the comments. Thanks for coming by and hope to hear from you again.
  • Joe
Very nice list. I am glad you took the time to do this. Peace T!
  • A great list. Thanks for putting this together.
  • Thanks for including me on a list that includes the word "awesome" in its title. I appreciate it and will recipicate by adding you to my blogroll.
  • Hello all,
I am the napkin dad (#34). Thanks for including me in your list, I appreciate it. The list is fantastic by the way, though I really thought i should be 33 at least. haha
  • tom
Thanks for the link, Tyler! Glad to see Dads getting a good voice going.
  • Great resource Tyler, bookmarked!

    And thanks for the link!
  • WOW!! GREAT! Thank you very much for sharing, I am a new Dad blogger but this list is great!! I can share these sites to my Dad members!
    Thank you,
  • Great list Tyler. I am amazed at the number of Daddy Blogs out there. The movement is growing. Can you add me to your list? www.agoodhusband.net

It's not a daddy blog per se, but a blog about being a good husband. More narrow focus. I've not seen too many blogs that focus on just that part, but I'll have to go through your list and see if I can find some.

    Again, great list, and thanks!
  • Thanks so much for including us!

This list is a fantastic resource. I'll pass this on to my hubby and other dads (and even bookmark it myself!).

    Thanks again.
  • Thanks again for all the love! This article would not have been possible if it wasn't for all the great dad and men sites out there.
@Marty: Thanks for stopping by. I had no idea you had another site. You have some awesome photographs!
@James: Glad you stopped by. I'll have to check out your site tonight...for some odd reason (I'll never know why) your site is being blocked by Big Brother IT here at work. Go figure.
@ AGoodHusband: Thanks for adding your site to the list. Sorry I missed your site. You have some great content that would have fit in well here.
  • Found my way here via Cory (A Good Husband) and would love to have my Dad Balance site included in the list. My blog has been focused on helping dads find the balance between their career and spending time with their family. Thanks for putting together another great list of dad blogs.
  • Cool! I added it to del.icio.us. Thanks for adding me!
  • good read thanx for taking the time to write it

    very interesting
  • Great list Tyler. I found you today by way of a referral of a referal of a referral.

Love to read the stories out there from a dad's perspective. If you wouldn't mind adding me to your list - I'd appreciate it. www.intraining365.blogspot.com

I'll be back soon. Great site.

  • @SavvyDaddy: Thanks for stopping by! This list could easily be 201 awesome sites because I have found even more since publishing this list.
@Rolando: I appreciate the comment. I'll stop by your blog over the weekend.
  • Cami
May I suggest another helpful site for dads? My twenty-one-year-old son has been working on a content-rich video game review site, geared toward parent education: Jorim's list, http://jorimslist.com. Gamer Dad and What They Play have the press right now, but Jorim isn't trying to compete, he's working to add to the information that helps parents decide what video games their kids should be playing. Funny thing is, as I've been working to get the word out, I've been learning that many mom's would just rather not know--I'm betting, though, that most dads aren't so squeamish. If they're looking to guide their kids, this is really important information in this generation!
  • Wow...just found this list and I love it! Thanks for putting together!
  • Great resource, this! Have only just started blogging, and would ask for the blog to be included except the wife collaborates sometimes. Disqualification? But anyway, it's super that there is some maleparent counterpoint to all the mummy blog compendiums out there. In fact, can't you formalise it further in that direction? Haven't the technical knowhow to volunteer help... For now, off to surf all those other daddy sites!

cloudsterss last blog post..Seeking that bath time breakthrough
  • My site wasn't around when you posted this thing, but it's here now. iamhusband.com - a place to help husbands be better husbands
  • Wow that is quite a comprehensive list. It is practically a directory. It is amazing what a shift being a dad has undergone in the last generation. I wonder how much is that blogging just makes everything more visible and how much is just that dads are much more involved. Some combo of the two I suspect. Thanks for all your work making those links available.
  • It is a really nice site for mens and husbands! I should let my hubby know!

I started it in 2006 and there are about 500 sites for dads in it today and it continues to grow....
