So…maternity clothes aren’t what you’d call manly, but if your wife is pregnant or has been pregnant, then you know her whole wardrobe gets turned upside down for 9 months. My wife is no exception.
During her first pregnancy she was able to borrow quite a bit of clothes from a friend. This time around it is much different. I can’t keep all of it straight because if your pregnant at different times of the year then you need different clothes than you did the first time around and so on. On top of all that, if your wife works, then she needs clothes for work AND for evenings and weekends. Geez!
I put this list together because my wife was getting frustrated at the selection of maternity clothes at Target and Ann Taylor Loft. I’m also a little quicker on the web and wanted to find her some “other” maternity shops. When your standard Target won’t do for maternity clothes, check out these sites for some great clothes for your pregnant wife.

Either show this article to your wife or if you want to score some brownie points, order something and surprise her. Be warned that, like all other womens clothes, maternity clothes don’t all fit the same. Check the return policy and make sure you can return or exchange the item that you order.
And guys - you might be surprised to find some pretty cool stuff out there for dads too!
Thanks for posting this; good to know for later!
Excellent set of resources there.
@ Stephen & Tom: Thanks for the comments. I know that people don’t come to Building Camelot to read about maternity wear, but I had the list together and thought — “Why not?” I had the list already made so I wanted to throw it out there for someone to see.
Wow!! Its really great and useful….
If your wife is plus sized, http://www.lanebryant.com has great maternity clothes too!
@Jamima: Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked the list.
@Angie: Very good point! Thanks for the link.
I know that http://www.MelissaReneeMaternity.com has a lot of formal maternity wear and you can even customize your gown. Plus sizes are also available!
Some really great sites. I’ve visited most of them while I was pregnant. Another good option is used maternity clothes. After all, you only wear this stuff for a short time. Here’s an up and coming site for used maternity clothes:
