I’ve got my sawzall out, safety glasses on and I’m tearing down the walls working on a redesign here at Building Camelot. Jeremy over at Discoveringdad.net just underwent a major overhaul and he inspired me to get the sledgehammer out and do some work. You ought to check out his new design…it looks fantastic.
The new theme for Building Camelot has already been chosen and I’m trying hard to make the switch. Since you can’t really help me with the theme (unless your a CSS expert…then we need to talk) you can help me pick out a color scheme for my redesign.
I stumbled across Colour Lovers a while back but didn’t realize how important it would become when I began my redesign. I found a couple color schemes that I like, but I want your feedback. Leave me a comment below and let me know which one you prefer.

If you haven’t heard of Colour Lovers, you’ve got to check it out if you’re looking for inspiration for your blog. Whether your redesigning your entire site, or just wanting to find some coordinating colors, Colour Lovers is your place.
My wife asked. “How would you use these on your site?” Well, these colors will help determine everything including text colors, hyperlink colors, and background colors; and so on…It will also help streamline the development process since I won’t have to hunt for colors each time something comes up. Plus…it will add some uniformity and flow to my site.
Let me know what you think and be patient with me as I rebuild Building Camelot.
I’m excited to see the rebuilt castle Tyler! I like the Knights Templar colors. Thanks for the props too man!

Hmmm I can’t really decide between the two. I really like how the reds go with the grey/black, but the orange/brown scheme could turn out interesting also. The first one looks just about the same of your current color scheme. So I’d say if you want to keep things the same color wise, go with the first one. If you want to try something new, go with the second one. Can’t wait to see it!

I tend to like the knight’s templar as well… but I liked the theme that you had in the past…so maybe I am not the best judge.
[...] help Tyler choose a color scheme. The builder of Camelot is rebuilding Building Camelot. That’s a lot of building going on and [...]
@Jeremy: Thanks for the input and I hope people come check out your site. You did a great job.
@Greg: Good to hear from you! I’m leaning more toward the second one myself. I’m interested how the oranges and browns would look…it’s manly enough without being too dark.
@Dad Of Divas: If you like this theme I think you’ll really like the new one!
I’m going to go with the knights templar scheme. The under construction theme isn’t bad, but I’m not keen on the orange mixed in with with the other shades. Either way, I’m sure you’ll make it work. You seem to have a good eye for web design. Looking forward to seeing the outcome!

Go with Knights Templar just because the name implies that you are bad a$$ Daddy.
I like the colors of Knights Templar. Apologies to Joeprah, I’m not much of an orange fan. I think the red implies power and fatherhood authority. That’s my vote, for what it’s worth.

Seems you guys are liking the Knights Templar scheme…It is growing on me and you guys make some compelling arguments.
Hmm, I’ll have to agree with most everyone else and say the knights templar looks better than the other. Not a fan of orange for a blog at all. I also dislike black backgrounds or other dark colors that cause reading the text painful to the eyes. I feel your pain in deciding this, as I’ve been considering a theme change for over a month now, and am still struggling with the decision. Maybe a magazine theme, which has grown on me some, but finding one I like (not knowing CSS) has been very um….(watching my language due to high levels of frustration) …stressing.

I vote knights templar. And BTW, love love love the pink princess room. Every girl needs one!

I think we have a winner! I will be using the Knights Templar color scheme for the redesign. It’s not a huge factor in the “look” but you will notice it in some key places.
Good, I was gonna vote for the Knights Templar! What you’ve done so far looks good.
